Beauty Tips Using Coffee

***This post includes a 2-in-1 coffee mask recipe that is great for brightening skin, removing dark circles as well as preventing hair loss and hydrating hair. Thank me later! 😉 ***

Hello Peeps,

If you didn’t know already, I am the biggest coffee enthusiast! I honestly don’t know where I’d be without it. It’s the only way I am able to function and get shit done.

Old school drip coffee, lattes, macchiatos, cappuccinos, espressos……I LOVE IT ALL!

I know relying on coffee to wake up my body and push through a long day isn’t the best idea but we’ll save that for another post.

I’m not ashamed to admit I suffer from severe dandruff during the winter and dark under eye circles. Coffee has made it possible to eliminate my dandruff, reduce my under eye circles and brighten up my dull complexion. Today, I really want to discuss the beauty benefits behind a old cup of joe.

Skin Benefits of Coffee-

Coffee has high antioxidants which helps brighten up dull skin and enhance the texture, allowing it to look tighter, smoother and brighter. The antioxidants work with the caffeine levels to help enhance blood circulation and shrink blood vessels, resulting in a reduction of puffy eyes and dark circles.

Hair Benefits of Coffee-

The caffeine in coffee helps increase the circulation in your scalp which leads to your hair to grow faster. Coffee can also prevent hair loss. Most of the time hair loss is due to weakened hair follicles. When hair follicles absorb coffee, they become stronger and softer. Coffee can help exfoliate your scalp as well. This means it can eliminate all dead skin allowing your scalp to be hydrated. If you suffer from dandruff, I highly recommend this!

2-in-1 Coffee Wake Up Mask

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon of ground coffee
  • 1 pinch of black pepper

Mix all three ingredients. Apply mask all over face and hair. Avoid getting the mixture in your eyes, nose, and mouth. Leave the masks on for about 30-60 minutes. Make sure you lay a towel on the floor and wear a shirt you no longer care about because this mixtures drips and could get things messy! A VIDEO OF THE APPLICATION CAN BE FOUND ON MY INSTAGRAM PAGE.

Just in case you’re wondering why I use black pepper…………

Black pepper is great for the skin because it helps fight inflammation which can reduce swelling/puffiness. It also benefits the hair because it removes dead skin which makes it an awesome treatment for dandruff.

I hope you all enjoyed this beauty DIY. Please let me know what you think about my recipe or if you have any questions or suggestions. I’d love to hear from you ALL.
